Mr. Singh / Mrs. Mehta is an upcoming Hindi film starring Prashant Narayanan and Aruna Shields. It’s directed by Pravesh Bhardwaj, who has learnt the nuances of film making from the likes of Shyam Benegal, Gulzar, Aruna Raje and Govind Nihalani, to name a few. The film is produced by Manu Kumaran and is scheduled to be released in June 25th 2010.
Plot
Set in London, Mr Singh/Mrs Mehta is a story of two people – Ashwin (Prashant Narayanan) and Neera (Aruna Shields) who find their spouses are having an affair. Drawn together by shame and anger, they find comfort in their growing friendship even as they resolve not to be like their unfaithful mates. Mr Singh/Mrs Mehta is directorial debut of Pravesh Bhardwaj and features music of Grammy nominated artist Ustad Shujaat Hussain Khan.

According to reports Pravesh Bhardwaj’s upcoming film “Mr. Singh and Mrs. Mehta” has been passed by the censor board with ‘A’ certificate and now the film is ready to hit the theaters on 25th June. This film has already gained so much popularity because in the film Aruna Shields is going to appear nude. “Mr. Singh and Mrs. Mehta” heroin role had rejected by 60 actresses due to nude and love making scenes. But the British actress Aruna Shields, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Vivek Oberoi in the film “Prince”, accepted it and posed nude in the film. “Mr. Singh and Mrs. Mehta” is produced by Tutu Sharma and Manu S Kumaran. Other cast of the film includes Naved Aslam, Prashant Narayanan and actress Lucy Hassan.

Director of the film said that the censor board watched the film twice before giving “A” certificate and letting it go without cuts. He said, board members judged that the nude scene was the demand of Neera Singh character in the film. He was very happy and said, “It was a big relief for all of us.”
Mr Singh and Mrs Mehta is a story of Neera (Aruna Shields) and Ashwin (Prashant Narayanan). Neera’s husband cheats on her with other woman. The revelation of her husband affair shocks her and she finds comfort in her growing friendship with Ashwin. To show her anger she decides to pose nude for his painting.
