World Breastfeeding Week is coming, mums - time to unveil the Angelina Jolie breastfeeding statue!Yep, the mum-celebrating week and the statue are both for real. Celeb-sculpting artist Daniel Edwards made the life-size Ang, titled "Landmark For Breastfeeding", to be displayed in the US in September during World Breastfeeding Week.
Ang's statue depicts the "football-hold", which is an accepted method of holding two bubs at the same time while feeding.
“We believe the statue sends a beautiful message by promoting the acceptance of public breastfeeding. Mothers should be encouraged to nurture their babies anywhere,” said a spokesperson from Phantom-Financial, who are involved with the statue's exhibition.
Artist Daniel added, "hopefully my sculpture inspires an increase of wetnurses to assist women who have concerns about mastitis, or passing HIV to their infant.”
