Even before the release of highly anticipated film Dabangg, news of its sequel is already doing the rounds. Sonu Sood, who plays the villain in the Salman Khan-starrer, recently promised to return in the film’s sequel. Sood, who plays Cheedi Singh, a youth politician said, “A sequel will happen... I don’t want to reveal a lot, but Cheedi Singh may come back in the sequel.”
Talking about his role, he adds, “Cheedi completes Chulbul Pandey (Salman); they both are incomplete without each other. He is powerful and unpredictable, and he also adds humour to the negativity. Actually, he is quite similar to the character of Gabbar Singh.”
Produced by Arbaaz Khan and directed by Anurag Kashyap’s brother Abhinav Kashyap, Dabangg is set to be released on September 10. The film, which promises to be high on action, includes what is being called ‘Bollywood’s first ever oil fight sequence’.
“It is the first time that an oil fight sequence has been included in a Hindi movie. Shooting it was fun, but painful,” said Romeo, who plays an antagonist in the movie. “Salman and I have done the stunts on our own in this fight.”
It took a week to shoot the sequence, said the actor, recalling, how everyone kept slipping and falling on the oily floor. The 29-year-old actor, who was earlier seen in Kisaan, says, “I play a character who is wanted in Bihar. Sonu Sood and I are along the same line of bad boys.” Another action scene involves Parkour, a freestyle routine that involves jumping from building to building.
The movie has reportedly created a buzz also because of the bare-bodied combat scene between Khan and Sood. “I used to work out for four hours every day to get the look. Salman used to pull my leg and say that I should not look better than him in the movie,” says Sood, laughing.
The film stars Om Puri, Vinod Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, and marks the debut of Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi Sinha.
