According to the latest report, South Indian singer Swarnalatha has died due to some lung problem on Sunday, but we could not confirm the dead news as of yet. The Wikipedia page of the singer has been updated saying that Swarnalatha died in a private hospital in Chennai on September 12, 2010.
Swarnalatha (37) has sung many songs in different languages, including Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Urdu and Badaga. She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her rendition of the famous song Porale Ponnuthayi from the film Karuththamma.
