The mysterious name Rahul in detained US LeT suspect David C Headley's email has been identified by the investigative agency. It is the name of famous Bollywood director-producer Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul Bhatt.The investigative agency in India interrogated Rahul Bhatt in this connection on Thursday. The Investigative agencies let him off after the interrogation.
Rahul Bhatt informed officials that he met Headley but he didn't know his plans and his background.
However, Rahul denied to comment further on interrogations. Rahul Bhatt is fitness trainer in Bollywood.
Rahul said that Headley met him in connection with obtaining job in India. Interrogating officials said that it seems that Rahul is innocent he didn't know motive of Headley that time.It is worth mentioning here that Rahul helped detained LeT operative to rent a flat in Mumbai's posh locality.
When contacted Mahesh Bhatt to comment on this, he said that onus is on investigating agencies to comment and it is not right for me to comment.
Headley, a US citizen of Pakistani origin who had been arrested by US's Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) on October 18 with a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin Tahawwur Rana, at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, had told FBI interrogators that Rahul was a prominent Indian actor. Headley had been arrested on the information that he was planning terror attacks in Denmark and India.
The two men became friends and when Headley expressed that he was looking to rent a flat, Rahul even helped him get one near Breach Candy through a property broker. All this while, say investigators, Rahul was not aware that Headley had LeT links.
