Salman Khan Wanted Veer

Salman Khan Wanted VEER to break all records!!

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who played a hit man in super hit flick  ‘Wanted’ wants his upcoming flick ‘Veer’ to hit the bull’s eye and break all records at the box office.

Sallubhai emphasized that he had always believed that Anil Sharma (the director of ‘Veer’) was one of the best directors in the country and this would again be proved with the super success of upcoming ‘Veer’ at the box office.  Salman also underplayed the rumors of differences between him and the director Anil Sharma.

In fact, Sallubhai felt that the creative differences were useful for the flick. In any case, he believed that both persons wanted the betterment of the flick at heart and so these differences should not be overstated. Miss UK, Lisa Lazarus, plays the female lead opposite Salman Khan in this period flick, which has been produced by Vijay Galani.

Meanwhile, the first preview of ‘Veer’ was held at a suburban theatre and Salman Khan was very excited about the whole thing. So much so that Sallubhai took his father Salim Khan (of the famous jodi of Salim-Javed, associated with biggies like ‘Sholay’, ‘Zanzeer’) to the theatre and made him view the flick before its release.

It was after a long twenty years that Salman Khan invited his father Salim Khan to witness his film and express honest opinion. His first film to be shown by Salman Khan was ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, wherein he made his bollywood debut. The movie was a rocking success at the box office.

Even this time Salim Khan liked Salman Khan’s character in ‘Veer’ and blessed him. The occasion and blessing of Salim Khan was especially important for Salman Khan as it was Salim Khan’s 74th birthday, and Salman wanted to make the day memorable to him.

It may be recalled that Salman Khan had especially taken tips from Aamir Khan to build his body to play the character in Veer. Aamir Khan was too happy to oblige and divulged to Sallubhai some of his secrets regarding his fabulous body in ‘Ghajini’.

The flick also has a sequence where Salman Khan fights with a lion, while saving the life of his love interest in the flick. In fact, the scene had Lisa Lazarus going on a hunt in the jungle, where the lion attacks. But Salman saves her after fighting with the lion.

The shooting of the flick has taken place mostly in London and India. The post production work is going on in full swing and the flick is scheduled to see the light of the day on January 20, when it will be released worldwide in theatres.
